A new video dedicated to apple breeding at Fondazione Mach is now available on FEM’s YouTube channel.

The video takes viewers inside the research process, from the germplasm collection – one of the richest in Europe-  to controlled pollination, and on to the laboratory and field selection of new seedlings. The goal is to develop apple varieties that can meet today’s key challenges: disease resistance, reduced use of plant-protection products, adaptation to climate change, fruit quality and consumer satisfaction.
