The role of digital technology in agriculture will be the focus of the seminar held by Prof. Bruno Basso at Fondazione Edmund Mach.
On Monday, 27th February, at 11:00 a.m., in the Conference Room of the Palazzo della Ricerca e della Conoscenza and in live streaming on the FEM youtube channel, the professor of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Michigan State University (USA), co-founder and chief scientist of CiBO Technologies (a startup that deals with environmental sustainability linked to agricultural production) will explain the role of digital technology in agriculture with examples of possible and concrete applications in the field.
The seminar will be held in Italian and will also be visible in live streaming on the Fondazione Mach's YouTube channel.
This will be an opportunity to explore the current and stimulating theme of agritech, a subject at the center of FEM research and technology transfer activity, where a unit specifically dedicated to digital agriculture is active. Agritech also represents the main theme of the National Center for the development of New Technologies in Agriculture (Agritech) of which FEM is a founding member and partner; based on the use of enabling technologies for the sustainable development of agri-food production, this project aims at promoting adaptation to climate change, reducting environmental impact in agrifood, and promoting marginal areas, safety, traceability and typicality of the supply chains.
