What are the risks associated with the spread of new pathogens in Europe? In which areas are they most likely to spread? What tools to use to predict new pandemics and monitor their spread? 200 researchers -100 in presence and 100 remotely connected- from 30 countries, meet today and tomorrow in Trento as part of the workshop organized by the Edmund Mach Foundation in collaboration with the Bruno Kessler Foundation and MUSE on analysis, monitoring and the assessment of emerging diseases in Europe.
This morning the manager of the FEM Research and Innovation Center, prof. Mario Pezzotti, the deputy director of the planning office of the research and innovation system of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Valentina Perrotta, the director of MUSE, Michele Lanzinger, the manager of the simple water surveillance and control structure of the APSS, Francesco Pizzo. The scientific works were introduced by Annapaola Rizzoli, head of the Applied Ecology Unit of the FEM Research and Innovation Center and coordinator of the Work Package on diseases intelligence, and by Elena Arsevska of CIRAD, coordinator of the MOOD project.
