Giovannini Oscar
Graduated in Viticulture ed Oenology at the University Consortium S. Michele a/A, Trento and Udine with the thesis title “Activity of Salvia officinalis L. extract and its main compounds against grapevine downy mildew” (2010).
He supports the activities on the research and development of biofungicides in the control of the main grapevine diseases within local, national and international projects (REPCO, CO-FREE, PURE, RELACS).
The research activity belongs to the plant extracts production and the detection of the active molecules against grapevine pathogens with effectiveness tests under lab, greenhouse and field conditions. The know-how allows to develop plant protection strategies that maximize the efficacy of natural products and the evaluation of possible side-effects on the vinification.
He is studying the Plasmopara viticola oospores germination in order to model and identify the optimal conditions that induce the first infections in vineyard.
