I am a bioinformatician with expertise in the analysis of 'omics' data using open source tools (mostly Unix command line tools and the R programming language for the statistical analysis) and the Literate Programming paradigm. I developed my skills in the statistical analysis of high-throughput data with particular attention to gene expression data (mostly microarray and RNA-Seq) from various organisms (from human to plants and bacteria) that I have been analyzing since 2003.
For the past 10 years, I have been developing custom scripts and workflows to automate complex data analysis tasks spanning from differential gene expression data analysis of RNA-seq data (of both eukaryotes and prokaryotes organisms) to assembly de novo and gene annotation of prokaryotes organisms.
In recent years, my main focus has been on the development, update and maintenance of the largest compendium of gene expression data for Vitis vinifera (VESPUCCI).
