Sixty researchers and agri-food professionals from across Europe gathered in San Michele all’Adige from 13 to 15 May for the international symposium ISO FOOD 2026 focused on food authenticity, traceability and safety.
The event, organised by Fondazione Edmund Mach, brought together researchers, industry representatives and regulatory bodies to discuss food quality, sustainable production and innovation in the agri-food sector.
Topics covered during the symposium included foodomics and “-omics” technologies, food metrology, alternative ingredients and the impact of climate change on agri-food production systems.
The initiative was coordinated by FEM’s Traceability Research Unit, which develops advanced methods for verifying the origin and authenticity of agri-food products.
