It is now published the 2019-2022 Report of activities for the Research and Innovation Center, which collects in 122 pages the main research results of this four-year period. It shows a generale growth of the qualitative performance of research activities, where the articles per year in high-level scientific journals exceed the number of 200 and international collaborations involve over 570 public and private entities.
"The Research and Innovation Center represents an aknowledged international authority in the production of scientific results and concrete effects for the local and national territory, thanks to the commitment of dedicated researchers and high-level instrumental equipment" explains the director of the Research Center, Prof. Mario Pezzotti.
The report offers a detailed and in-depth analysis of the research activities carried out over the last four years. Thanks to the contribution of a team of highly qualified and passionate researchers, the Center has achieved significant results in several key sectors such as sustainable agriculture, ecology, biodiversity, genetics, nutrition and technological innovation.
Among the main results reported in the report, important discoveries in the field of sustainable agriculture stand out. The Center has developed new agricultural methods and practices that favor the conservation of natural resources, reduce environmental impact and improve productivity. The use of innovative cultivation techniques, such as precision agriculture together with advanced technologies, has made it possible to optimize the use of water and fertilizers, while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Furthermore, the report highlights the importance of ecology in biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management. Through in-depth studies, the Center has contributed to the understanding of the mechanisms that regulate interactions between species, providing a solid basis for the conservation of natural habitats and the promotion of sustainable management strategies.
Genetic research was another highly relevant area in the report. Thanks to the use of cutting-edge techniques, the Center has conducted studies on the genetic diversity of cultivated plants and animals, favoring the development of varieties more resistant to disease and environmental stress. This has a direct impact on food security and the sustainability of agricultural systems.
Nutrition is another central aspect of the Centre's research, with studies aimed at better understanding the mechanisms that regulate human metabolism and at identifying optimal dietary patterns for health. The scientific evidence collected contributes to the promotion of balanced dietary habits and the improvement of public health policies.
Finally, the report also highlights the Centre's commitment to technological innovation. The collaboration with industrial and academic partners has allowed the development of advanced technological solutions for agriculture, data management and the creation of innovative digital platforms for decision support.
