The intention of the Research and Innovation Centre (CRI) Report is to give a detailed account of our principal endeavours over the period 2011/12, to “open the doors of our laboratories” and to share our objectives, activities and achievements with our readers. To this end, we have broken with past tradition and have implemented a new presentation style which operates on two levels: the main text attempt to reach the non-expert, while some aspects are described in more detail to maintain the necessary “technical” dimension.
With this approach we hope to reach the widest possible audience and to draw their attention to the tireless work of our staff of almost 300 people (including about 175 researchers), by clearly and effectively illustrating the activities they have carried out.
