Sixty-seven pages containing the scientific research business card of the Edmud Mach Foundation. The report of the Research and Innovation Center 2017/2018 completes the panorama of FEM reporting alongside the other two publications of the institution: the Report of the Technology Transfer Center and the Yearbook of the Education and Training Centre.

The biennial edition offers readers a selection of the most important research results of the two-year period (2017 and 2018). The three "pillars" of the FEM commitment according to its scientific mission, well summarized in the three "A" (Agriculture, Food, Environment), are illustrated with a selection of short discursive articles, in which the researchers illustrate the relevance of the main projects of research with the scientific results achieved in the period just ended. As a corollary, the Report includes a series of "telegraphic" interventions reporting further results of the FEM research of the two-year period.

The Mach Foundation of S. Michele all'Adige, in its Research and Innovation Center, confirms itself as an institute of excellence in the disciplinary sectors that distinguish it, placing itself in a top position in the classification of national research institutes drawn up by ANVUR, the agency for evaluation of research in Italy. A few numbers, reported in the Report, prove these results right, even quantitatively. 182 people work at the Research and Innovation Center (43% women, 14% foreigners, 37% with a research doctorate). Over the two-year period, these researchers published 383 articles in “impact factor” scientific journals. International collaborations are in the order of 200, in most European and non-European countries, on five continents. The Research and Innovation Center is also an important center for the organization of scientific events: in the two-year period, six international "major events" and 13 dissemination events alongside numerous seminars and conferences.
