Rosso Fausta

I am a DVM with expertise in parasitology and molecular biology techniques.

During the years 1996-2007 I worked at Centre for Alpine Ecology (Trento) studying gastrointestinal helminths of alpine wild bird and small mammals with the dual purpose of characterizing the taxonomy of the found species and analyzing the host-parasite interaction. Moreover in the same period I collaborated in the sanitary management of reared birds of endangered species (rock partridge, black grouse).

In 2008 I acquired my permanent position as technologist in Fondazione Mach and I focused my interest on molecular recognition of pathogens and vector-borne diseases, especially those transmitted by ticks and mosquitoes.. I used the same methods to improve the knowledge about physiological features of vectors.

Finally I perform serological tests like immunofluorescence assays or ELISA to detect antibodies against zoonotic virus in blood of domestic or wild animals.
