Mission

Analytical methods and statistical models are developed based on Stable Isotope Ratios Analysis and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance to verify the origin/authenticity of agrifood to enhance and protect high premium products and to give scientific support to government control services. We also apply our scientific know-how to other fields of research: e.g. forensic science, ecology, archeology, hydrology, plant physiology, and metabolomics.

Innovation and methods

This Unit uses unique, efficient and cutting-edge expertise and technology for measuring bulk and compound specific stable isotope ratios and performing targeted/untargeted Nuclear Magnetic Resonance analyses (see also: Traceability Platform).

Facilities

Traceability

We offer an array of services focusing on Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometry and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance using state of the art instrumentation that have applications to food, agriculture, nutrition, ecology, environment, forensic, archeology, paleo-climatology, and hydrology sciences.
