The platform is aimed at the measurement of energy and mass exchanges (C, H2O, N) between vegetation and the atmosphere in alpine ecosystems, at their eco-physiological characterization and at their modellization and upscaling by means of remote sensing data.

This platform analyses the quality, stability and biogas potential of biomass and associated by-products. Different types of organic residues are treated at the composting and anaerobic digestion pilot plant according to customized experimental designs; the plant is also used for teaching.
